Neighborhood, Homeowner, Condo and Suburban City Booths

Your booth at the Grassroots Gala can highlight your neighborhood in any manner your members feel appropriate. Be creative! Each booth space consist of an eight foot table and two chairs.

  • Bring photos and highlight your neighborhood history
  • Raise money for your group:
    • Raffle of an item from a neighborhood artisan or store

    • Sell neighborhood merchandise or memberships

  • Partner with a neighborhood business giving away samples or baubles
  • Conduct a survey
  • Feature a neighborhood "jewel," attraction or park
  • Promote neighborhood events

It's your space and your event - make it special!

This information is being sent out well in advance of the Grassroots Gala in order to give neighborhood groups ample time to organize their booths.

    9th District Spring Community Forum, City of St. Matthews City Hall, 3940 Grandview Avenue, 6 - 7:30 pm. Guest speakers include ECO-CELL, LMPD's new Chief of Police, Steve Conrad, and an update on sidewalk projects around St. Matthews and the Seneca Loop.

    Wednesday, April 4th:

    Spring Yard Sale at Peterson-Dumesnil House, 301 S. Peterson Avenue, 8 am - 1 pm. "Rain or Shine".     Help grow food in the food desert- Join us to prepare beds & plant seeds at our community garden at 22nd & Woodland in the Park Hill neighborhood.

    Work rain or shine. Enthusiasm necessary, but experience is not. Bring your favorite garden tools or work gloves if you have them. As always, we provide snacks & Heine Brothers Coffee.
    Breaking New Grounds needs a couple Garden Leaders to keep this garden happy through the season and provide direction to other volunteers. If you have 1/2 day a week through the growing season and would like to get your hands dirty to feed people, please call Amanda at 356-2216.

    Bike Rides: All-Community, All-Speed

    Four All-community, All-speed Rides will be coordinated by the Bike Courier Bike Shop.
    • Different routes
    • Different challenges

    Every Monday of the month at 6:15 pm.


    Everyone is welcome. No dress co
    de. Faster cyclists will start first, followed by more leisurely cyclists. One of the Bike Courier Bike Shop staff will ride behind the group along with the most leisurely rider - no matter how far behind.

    First Monday of the month: Old Louisville Ride, 6 miles & no hills, Churchill/UofL shop to River & back. Begins at 2833 S Fourth St.

    Second Monday of the month: River Ride, 6 miles & 1 hill, Clifton shop to downtown & back. Begins at 2132 Frankfort Ave.

    Third and Fifth Mondays of the month: Urban Triangle Ride, 16 miles & 8 hills, Clifton shop to downtown to UofL & back. Begins at 2132 Frankfort Ave.

    Fourth Monday of the month: Eastern Parkway Ride, 17 miles & 17 hills, Churchill/UofL shop to Clifton & back. Begins at 2132 Frankfort Ave.

    *This coming Monday (March 19) is a Third Monday, so the ride will begin in Clifton. Starting points in the future will change when we re-open the Fourth Street shop. Stay tuned at
